This week due to weather our class was canceled. However looking over the Module Joe and Bryalin were going to present it appears that we would have learned about Assessments. Assessments measure what students have learned, they also provide objective and subjective data to gauge students’ progress and skill mastery for educators. Assessments can also be used for educators to take part in an example of this is OTEZ. In this module we learn about the different types of assessments and they are as follows:

Summative Assessment:

· End – of – year assessment

· State Assessments

· Aligned to content area state standards

· Measures students AYP

· A component of teacher accountability and evaluation

Interim Assessment

· 6-8 week assessment

· School and district level assessments

· Identify gaps in students learning

· Predicts students performance on state tests

· Data used at classroom level

· Drive district level decisions

Formative Assessment

· Daily Assessment

· Linked to learning experience

· Assesses students Understanding and mastery of skills

· Data used to modifying instruction

All of these types of assessment can also have different types of delivery methods:

· Pencil and paper

· Online

· Adaptive

Pencil and paper, is the historic way educators have given assessments to their students. Online assessments are becoming more and more popular as more classes are going to online and technology is being implemented into the classroom. The other delivery method is adaptive and these are online tests to adapt as to user progresses through the question. Below are the different types of tools that are available for educators.

· Kahoot

· PearDeck

· EduCanon

· Socrative

· Poll Everywhere

· Mastery Connect

· Mentimeter
