In today's class we covered a few new things.
1. Reviewed the course assignments, including group presentations and final project for the course
2. Selected Cool Tools to blog about for weeks 3-12.
3. Discussed revising/updating blogs with other classmates. Evan recommended how to improve my blogs for the coming weeks.
4. Watched a video on a school without technology. This video was very thought provoking as it showed students in the 21st century attending school without any technology. I wonder what the transition will be like when they switch from having no technology to having technology integrated into their classroom when they go back to "regular" school. The reason the students were learning without the use of technology at this summer school was to not loose their heritage and culture.
5. The class also watched an ad for the University of Akron. The advertisement included lots of glamour shots, nice buildings, and fun things to do at Akron. The prominent figure in the ad was Lebron James. The video attempted to cash in on his celebraty status in an effort to promote Akron U.
In reflection, I haven't spent a lot of time reviewing the Cool Tools yet, but it looks like there are a lot of new and interesting technology tools that could be useful in the classroom. I look forward to learning about some of the new Cool Tools and blogging about them.
