Review of H5P

H5P is an interactive video sharing tool that allows you to select a short video and code over top of the video to provide interaction with the video for your students.

So far this it the best tool I've seen in this class. I can see its usefulness in almost any lesson or in any content area. It provides a different way to present material to the class as opposed to just lecturing. The tool allows the teacher to create a lesson that can engage students by interacting with the video. The challenge would be finding a video with related content to the topic the teacher is covering in that lesson. Once the proper video content is found, a teacher can use this tool to reinforce the material covered in the lesson. When a question is missed, the teacher can provide tips and hints to help the student determine the correct answer to the question. This tool also provides a way to evaluate the students understanding of the material by including questions in the video the student must answer. .

This tool is very user friendly and would be easy for students to use. Students can find a video that interests them on YouTube and very quickly start to code over the video to create their own interactive content. There are many tutorial videos and 'how to' videos on the H5P site for the various types of interactions a student could code for, so there are very few challenges to learning how to use the tool. Plus its a free tool which makes it much more accessible and usable by students.
