I really liked the topic and going over the material for the Digital Citizenship in module Seven. I felt the topic was one of if not the most important topics covered so far in class. I thought they points made in class about once something is posted out on the internet it’s out there forever and someone can always find it. Is a very scary concept, one that most kids in High schools or even most College students don’t understand?

A crazy statistic that was mentioned in module seven was that 60% of kids have experienced Cyber Bullying. This to me is very alarming from the stand point that so many students have experienced problems with that. However I think it goes back to my first point that most people don’t think about what they say or how it could be take once they put it out on the internet.

Another scary takeaway form the presentation was Digital Security and how important it is to understand who to trust with your personal information. As society becomes more integrated and dependent on technology this is an extremely alarming idea. Who’s to say that as we integrate our smartphones with other smart technology across different platforms (car, watch, and refrigerator) that if someone hacks or can steal personal information from you they could have access to many other phases of your life. Cyber Security will be a huge point of effects on the moving into the ever evolving future in education and the rest of the world.

I thought the Kaley did an amazing job presenting the information. I know Emily had a personal emergency come up that I’m sure altered the way they had planned to present the material. I thought Kaley did a nice job rolling with the situation and adapting to having to stand up and present / teach on her own. The videos were great I thought they gave numerous perspectives how Digital Citizenship can not only affect us in an educational setting but can also in our personal lives.
